Oh Nigeria of days past,
We knew you would not last.
When our tears were not seen in the rain,
When we were in pain,
When our shouts were not heard in the thunder,
Shouts of everlasting hunger.
Oh Nigeria of today,
Do not let us be in dismay.
We put our hope in you,
Hope that our wishes come true.
In trials and tribulations, we still have faith,
Faith that our country will reach its fulfilled state.
Oh Nigeria of days to come,
When we will dance with sounds of the drum
When our celebrations will reach the ends of the earth,
When we will enjoy Nigeria in its rebirth.
Our descendants will know the deeds of good and evil,
But the good is what will prevail.
